Werder Bremen defeated Eintracht Frankfurt by the score of 1-0 and avoided a potential relegation playoff battle. Keeper Felix Wiedwald played the hero, earning the clean sheet. Although Bremen avoided the relegation playoff, Eintracht Frankfurt finished in 16th spot and now must defeat 1. FC Nürnberg to stay in the 1. Bundesliga.

Gonzalo Higuaín made Serie A history on Saturday when he scored a hat-trick in Napoli’s 4-0 win over relegated Frosinone. With those three goals, he became the first player in Italy to score 36 goals in a single season, breaking the previous tally of 35.

SL Benfica retained the Liga NOS title for the third straight season following their 4-1 win over Nacional. Nicolás Gaitán played the hero, scoring twice and assisting on another.

Olivier Giroud’s scored three times as Arsenal ended their season with a 4-0 victory over relegated Aston Villa. Giroud finishes the season leading the club with 16 goals while Arsenal finished the season in second place.
